Conservation Framing
-
We use only acid-free foamboard and museum quality matboard to protect your work. Conservation glass is always recommended which blocks up to 98% of damaging U.V. rays. Depending on your piece appropriate adhesives and/or mounting techniques are used.
-
A heat-activated foamboard is used to permanently mount posters etc. This is not a conservation friendly process.
-
Also a heat set process. Used after an item has been drymounted to add a film of protection so no glass is needed. Available in different finishes like satin or linen.
-
This service is available allowing you to choose two different board thicknesses as well as edge colors to permanently adhere an item and is protected by a layer of laminating film.
-
In our gallery you'll find a variety of framed art consisting of open edition prints, photography, limited edition prints and sport prints each uniquely framed with double or triple mat designs.
-
Choose a print by color, subject, title or artist on our computer program, which helps to define your search.
-
We stretch your needlework one pin at a time until all sides are square. Needlepoint pieces are always blocked before stretching to insure uniformity.
-
For a special item or collection of items, a shadowbox frame is used when more space or depth is needed. A shadowbox frame can also be used to create a more dramatic effect, as for sports jerseys, collections or even a special event.
-
With the addition of our computerized mat cutting machine, the basic function of the matboard - keeping glass off of the art - is brought to a whole new dimension of creativity and style. Subtle v-grooves or lines cut into the mat’s surface can be added to various degrees for definition. For a more obvious design engraved motifs and graphics make an even bolder statement
